Fans found hints of the plot of the third season of "House of the Dragon" on a new poster
This note contains spoilers for George R.R. Martin's book "Fire & Blood" and HBO's series "House of the Dragon."
HBO unveiled a new poster for the third season of "House of the Dragon," and fans of George Martin's universe have already dissected it pixel by pixel.
The main subject of discussion was Rhaenyra Targaryen, depicted at the base of the Iron Throne. Although she is not yet sitting on it, the composition hints at the fall of King's Landing and the return of the Blacks to power.
To Rhaenyra's right stands Daemon Targaryen with a drawn sword. In the books, he helps the Blacks take the capital, using his connections among the city watch. Opposite him is Aemond Targaryen, and fans consider this a hint at the upcoming "Battle Above the Gods Eye," which is only expected in the fourth season.
The poster also shows Jacaerys, Baela, and Rhaena Targaryen reaching out to Rhaenyra. Some viewers see this as support for the queen, while others see it as a hint of an internal power struggle.
Aegon II also reaches out to Rhaenyra, but HBO placed him noticeably lower than the other characters, emphasizing how precarious his position has become after the second season.
Fans paid special attention to Alicent and Helaena. Alicent looks intently towards Daemon, while Helaena turns away from what is happening, hinting at their attitude towards the invasion of King's Landing.
The slogan "Victory or Death" adds to the anxiety. Readers of "Fire & Blood" know how the story will end. And although viewers will undoubtedly see major deaths in the third season of "House of the Dragon," the tragic finale will likely be postponed until the fourth season, which will be the show's last.
