Microsoft to Host Xbox Game Dev Update Presentation Today, Dedicated to Project Helix
The broadcast is primarily aimed at developers, not regular players.
On May 7 at 7:00 PM Moscow time, Microsoft will host the first Xbox Game Dev Update presentation, dedicated to the Project Helix console.
The hosts of the broadcast will be Chris Charla, Xbox General Manager for Portfolio and Programs, and Jason Ronald, Vice President of Next-Generation Technologies. During the presentation, the company will provide more details about Project Helix — a system that Microsoft first briefly showcased at GDC 2026.
According to the broadcast description, Project Helix is being built on a custom SoC from AMD and is being developed jointly with the next generation of DirectX in mind. Microsoft claims that the new architecture should improve performance, accelerate developer workflows, and simplify game optimization.
The company also emphasizes that Project Helix will be part of the overall Xbox and PC ecosystem. Earlier, Jason Ronald already stated at GDC that the new platform is aimed at both console and PC games, and Microsoft wants to combine both directions within a single strategy.
During the broadcast, Microsoft is expected to share new technical details about the future of Xbox.
