"Game over, man! Game over!": Cooperative Shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Announced

Daybreak Game Company and Cold Iron Studios have officially announced the cooperative shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2. The game will be released this summer on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). More precise dates have not yet been announced.

The sequel will expand the cooperative component of the original: now up to four players can team up instead of three. Users will once again take on the role of Colonial Marines and venture into the most dangerous corners of the "Alien" universe, where hordes of xenomorphs will be waiting for them.

The developers promise deeper team mechanics, redesigned character classes, and an increased emphasis on tactical interaction. Each class will have unique abilities and playstyles, and proper coordination will be key to survival.

The creators paid special attention to enemies. The sequel will feature many new types of xenomorphs, which will become more aggressive and dangerous. Enemies will be able to set ambushes, attack from the dark, and quickly surround the squad. To combat them, players will be offered a variety of weapons and special ammunition – including incendiary and electric rounds, as well as melee weapons.

One of the main innovations will be the Specialist class. It will allow players to freely combine primary and secondary abilities from different classes, creating unique builds to suit their own playstyle or team needs.

In addition to story missions, the game will feature several maps for "Horde" mode at launch. In this mode, players will have to fend off endless waves of enemies, receiving increasingly valuable rewards for survival. According to the authors, this is where cooperation and team skills will be tested to the maximum.
