The first season of the animated series "Star Wars. Darth Maul: Lord of Shadows" concluded with a record-breaking user rating for the franchise on IMDb.
After the release of the two final episodes on May 4, the series climbed to an average rating of 8.7, becoming the highest-rated show in the "Star Wars" universe, surpassing "Andor" and "The Mandalorian," both with 8.6 points.
Viewers particularly enjoyed the season finale. The penultimate episode received 9.6 points, and the finale — 9.8. Previously, only the second season finale of "The Mandalorian" had the same rating. Higher than them is only the final episode of "The Clone Wars," which holds the absolute record among individual episodes of the franchise with a rating of 9.9 points.
Disney, it seems, perfectly understands how successful the new project turned out to be. The second season of "Lord of Shadows" was approved even before the first one concluded. Work on the continuation has been ongoing for "some time," but the creators are not yet rushing to share details and a release date.
