Subnautica 2 Developers Show New Sea Monsters Before Release
Subnautica 2 will soon be available for purchase on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Unknown Worlds studio continues to showcase new game materials.
This time, the developers announced a collaboration with artist Noh Mi-young, author of the digital comic LEVIATHAN, dedicated to humanity's struggle against giant sea creatures. For Subnautica fans, the artist prepared a large-scale illustration, which was shown in a new video.
Earlier, the authors already tried to temper players' expectations. The developers warned that Subnautica 2 will remain in early access for at least two years. Soon, players will receive a version with incomplete content and an unfinished story.
The studio also announced that the game on Unreal Engine 5 will continue to receive optimization after release. This was the developers' response to complaints about Subnautica 2's inflated system requirements.
Subnautica 2 will be released on May 14, 2026, on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
