EA continues to shut down games: EA Sports FC Tactical is no longer available

Electronic Arts has announced the shutdown of EA Sports FC Tactical, a mobile spin-off of the football series with turn-based matches.

The game has ceased to function, and in-game microtransactions have been permanently disabled.

EA Sports FC Tactical was developed by KLab studio and significantly differed from the main series. Instead of arcade football, the project focused on tactical team management during individual game episodes.

The game was released in limited access in May 2024 and was only available in certain countries. Many players were waiting for a global release, but weak financial performance and criticism from testers led to the cancellation of the worldwide launch and the project's shutdown.

Notably, the shutdown of FC Tactical coincided with the addition of the full EA Sports FC 26 to the May PlayStation Plus lineup.

Meanwhile, EA is preparing for other shutdowns. The company confirmed that it will disable several more games in the coming months:

Plants vs. Zombies HD (Apple devices) — June 24
Madden NFL 23 (consoles and PC) — July 13
NHL 22 and NHL 23 (consoles) — August 31
