Matt Reeves showed the first test shots for "The Batman 2" with Robert Pattinson. The director posted images from a monitor on social media, showing the Batmobile driving on a snowy road, and accompanied the post with the caption "WinterTires" and a bat emoji.
The shot reveals little, but it was enough to spark a wave of theories. The main one is related to Mr. Freeze – in snowy Gotham, fans saw a hint of Victor Fries' appearance, especially considering that Reeves previously spoke of a villain who "hasn't really been shown in movies yet."
Indeed, in feature films, Mr. Freeze only appeared in "Batman & Robin" in 1997, where he was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. By the release of "The Batman 2," 30 years will have passed since the character's first and so far last appearance in a major film.
Filming for the movie begins in June at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, and the premiere of "The Batman 2" with Robert Pattinson is currently scheduled for October 1, 2027.
