Insider reveals details of new Resident Evil and Devil May Cry projects
Devil May Cry will get a remake of its first installment - such information appeared in a new leak, which also reveals Capcom's plans for the development of the Resident Evil series. According to insiders, the company is working on several remakes and a new main installment of the franchise simultaneously.
Information about the development of a remake of the first Devil May Cry has leaked online. This could be a full-fledged return of the 2001 game, which still has a large fan base, and the project has long required updates to its gameplay, graphics, and presentation.
The situation with Resident Evil is even more interesting. According to the leak, back in 2022, Capcom approved plans for the series' development: remakes of Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil Code: Veronica, and the first installment, as well as the development of Resident Evil 10, which is internally codenamed “Project Redlife”.
The projects have their own codes: the remake of Resident Evil Zero is “Project Chambers”, and the remake of the first installment is “Project Fallen”. It is reported that it has already moved from pre-production to full-fledged development.
It is also stated that Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 10 are being developed on the new REX Engine. In the case of the tenth installment, it is mentioned that Claire Redfield could be the main character.
Additionally, insiders claim that Resident Evil Requiem will receive several story add-ons, and Ada Wong may appear in one of the DLCs.
