Directive 8020 discs reached players before release - horror game developers urged not to spoil content
Some individuals have already managed to fully complete the new Supermassive Games title.
Supermassive Games, known for its games in The Dark Pictures franchise, is preparing for the imminent launch of a new horror game, Directive 8020. Shortly before the release, reports began to appear online from players who had already received game discs.
The developers appealed to the community and urged them not to spoil the content:
As you all know, the game officially releases very soon — on May 12th, and it seems some [companies] have already started shipping copies of the game! If any of you receive a game disc early, please do not spoil what you see for the rest of the community before the official release. To get the most complete gaming experience with all the intended content, we also recommend waiting until release day. See you among the stars — May 12th!
Some users are already posting full playthroughs of Directive 8020 online — it took them just under 6 hours.
According to the plot of Directive 8020, the colony ship "Cassiopeia" crashes, and soon the crew realizes that there is someone else on board besides the crew members. They begin to be hunted by an alien creature capable of taking human form.
The role of the pioneering astronaut named Yang in this game is played by Hollywood actress Lashana Lynch ("The Woman King").
