Path of Exile 2 to Feature Grenade Launcher and Large Shield - Teaser of Unique Items from the "Return of the Ancients" Update
Players will soon be able to find new high-level items.
Grinding Gear Games continues to gradually reveal new features of the Path of Exile 2 "Return of the Ancients" update. Game Director Mark Roberts decided to show players a couple of new unique items.
PoE 2 will feature "Nightfall" – the Rift Shield of Lady Tula, as well as the Therat weapon of absolute destruction, "Redemption."
The shield will allow players to fight like the Rift Lord – after throwing, the shield can return, and there will also be an opportunity to teleport to it and strike:
Using Soaring Midnight, you throw the shield forward. If you do nothing, it will return to you. However, re-using the ability while the shield is in the air will teleport you to the shield and perform an extremely devastating downward strike. Catching the shield or destroying ice crystals will reset the cooldown, allowing you, under the right conditions, to turn into an avalanche yourself.
According to the developer, "Redemption" is a modified crossbow that specializes in everything that goes boom. It cannot use regular ammunition skills, but it is especially effective in using various grenades:
In fact, we made a completely new base type for this unique weapon [...] Armed with Redemption, and having caused enough trouble, you are ready to unleash explosive fervor, which ignores the typical cooldown of grenade skills in addition to drastically accelerating their rate of fire if you shoot a bunch of different grenades, allowing you to go on a true rampage, destroying everything around.
The release of the Path of Exile 2 "Return of the Ancients" update is scheduled for May 29. Players will be able to find "Nightfall" and "Redemption" as high-level unique items.
