Modder already banned in Forza Horizon 6, and buyer outraged by leak refunded for premium edition
Someone has already gained early access to the game, and now the bonus for the extended edition seems very questionable for some buyers
This weekend, the PC version of Forza Horizon 6 was leaked online. Players believe that an unencrypted copy of the game was accidentally uploaded to Steam again. This has happened before with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
Reports have started to appear online about "player bans" for those who launched a cracked version of Forza Horizon 6. Judging by the wording "you are banned for cheating or unauthorized game modding," this is not an Xbox (Microsoft) account ban, but an in-game Forza account ban. This ban is effectively permanent – the block will be lifted in the year 9999.
Players initially speculated that such a ban was only issued to those who tried to play Forza Horizon 6 in online mode. However, so far, only the ban of modder DVS Squad has been publicly confirmed, so there is an opinion that the block was still related to modifications.
The regular release of the game is scheduled for May 19, but owners of the Premium Edition will be able to get official early access 4 days earlier.
The situation with the Forza Horizon 6 leak angered some players who bought the extended edition for this early access. For example, user Nikfor_ said that he refunded the premium version:
I personally decided to refund the premium edition of Forza Horizon 6. I bought it only for early access, and when due to platform errors the full version becomes available earlier anyway, this "advantage" is worthless. Next time, do better – or just abandon this nonsense altogether and release the game for everyone at the same time. I will still play FH6 on the regular release day, but I'm not going to pay more for a "broken bonus."
