The developers also shared some new details about the upcoming project.

Ember Lab studio announced the postponement of the adventure game Kena: Scars of Kosmora to 2027. The developers explained the decision by their desire to gain additional time to polish the project and bring its quality to the level the team aims to achieve after Kena: Bridge of Spirits, but on a significantly larger scale.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora will retain the linear structure of the first part and a focus on characters, but the new game will offer a larger and deeper world. Players will not only be able to follow the main path but also explore areas beyond the usual route.

The story will once again focus on Kena — a spirit guide who simultaneously acts as a warrior and a spiritual healer. Before the events of the game, she spent many years helping the deceased find peace, confronting manifestations of their pain and the Corruption infecting the surrounding world. However, Kena begins to realize her own limitations: she learned to help the dead, but hardly explored what it means to be a guide for the living. Moreover, the heroine is used to dealing with others' suffering, paying much less attention to her own.

Kena hopes to find answers to these questions on the mysterious island of Kosmora. Her childhood friend Orphio believes that information capable of helping them understand the past and future is hidden there. Therefore, Kena travels to the island to learn more about her destiny and her own roots.

Once, four interconnected cultures existed on Kosmora, each building its life around one of the four elements. The ancient spirit guides of the island developed a unique system based on these elements and Alchemistic temples. However, a mysterious cataclysm destroyed one of the cultures, and the spiritual significance of the elements was eventually forgotten.

Meanwhile, ancient knowledge continues to influence the surviving cultures of Kosmora. The longer the island's true history remains buried, the more serious the dangers associated with it become. The spirit guide temples will play an important role in the game — large-scale dungeons where players will test their skills and receive rewards that can significantly change Kena's further adventure.

The island itself is not exclusively turned into ruins of an ancient civilization. Several modern cultures live on Kosmora, each with its own history, values, and problems. Kena's investigation will gradually lead her to a clash between the island's past and the lives of its current inhabitants. To progress further, the heroine will have to consider the peculiarities of different regions and adapt to new circumstances and characters.

The game world will also be noticeably larger than in Kena: Bridge of Spirits. For travels across Kosmora, Kena will receive a new companion — a mysterious crystalline creature in the form of a dog. It is directly connected to the island's history and will be more than just a means of transportation.

The companion will allow Kena to move faster through the world, help her in battles both mounted and on the ground, and will also be used to solve Alchemistic puzzles. Together, Kena and her new ally will embark on a quest for answers that should help heal not only the heroine's own scars but also the wounds that lie at the very foundation of Kosmora's history.
