Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition to be released on Switch 2 in July - Canadian retailer

Canadian retailer PNP Games has added Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition to its catalog with an estimated release date of July 10. While there is no official confirmation from the developers yet, and the specified date may be a placeholder, fans believe that the release announcement may come soon.

Initially, the expanded edition of the game was planned for release in 2025, but the project was postponed to 2026. The reason for the delay was the need for additional optimization for the less powerful hardware of the Switch 2.

During closed showings at Gamescom 2025, the version for the new Nintendo console experienced serious performance issues. Players reported that the frame rate regularly dropped to 20, and sometimes even to 15 fps, even in small rooms without many characters. In portable mode, the game was limited to 30 fps, but the system could not consistently maintain this figure.

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will include:

• Shadow of the Erdtree expansion
• Two new starting classes
• Four new armor sets
• New weapons and Ashes of War
• Three customization options for Torrent
