Path of Exile 2 creators are not afraid of Diablo IV and other games - only GTA VI is considered in planning
Grinding Gear Games has to consider the release of Rockstar Games' new title when making their own plans.
Game director Jonathan Rogers recently gave an interview and spoke about the Path of Exile 2 team's approach to work. As it turned out, they are not concerned about the release dates of other games, but Grinding Gear Games does take one project into account when building their plans.
According to Rogers, Grand Theft Auto VI is "kind of a problem":
We don't usually pay too much attention to other ARPG releases because, frankly, we can't afford to. And, for that matter, the community would just tear us apart if they thought we were delaying something just because some other game is about to be released. However, GTA VI is kind of a problem. If there's one release to avoid, I'd say it's Grand Theft Auto VI.
Jonathan Rogers noted that marketers will actively promote Grand Theft Auto VI and will occupy the media space as much as possible during the release period:
The thing is, [Rockstar] will literally buy up all the media space. Everything you can spend money on, I'm sure they will spend it. So, probably, for that reason alone, releasing something even on the same weekend as them is not the best idea.
