Switch 2 will get new games - Ocarina of Time is being discussed online again
Nintendo hinted that new unannounced games will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, which immediately sparked a wave of rumors about a possible remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. President Shuntaro Furukawa's statement reignited discussions among fans.
The head of Nintendo announced that new products are being prepared for Switch 2, in addition to those already presented. He did not disclose details, but his words were quickly linked to months of rumors about a full-fledged remake of Ocarina of Time.
Additional interest was sparked by recent reports of a Star Fox 64 remake for Switch 2. According to players, this could indicate Nintendo's pattern of bringing back classic games that previously received 3DS versions.
Discussions about a possible Ocarina of Time remake immediately began on forums and Reddit. Some players are looking forward to a careful update, while others want a full-fledged remake in the spirit of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Nintendo has not officially confirmed anything. Furukawa limited himself to talking about “new projects in addition to those already announced,” adding that the company wants to increase the attractiveness of Switch 2 amid discussions about a price increase for the console.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remains one of the key games in the history of the industry. The 1998 project regularly appears on lists of the best games of all time and is considered a product that shaped the 3D action-adventure genre.
The game has already received a version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, but many fans are still waiting for a full-fledged remake for modern platforms.
