Grinding Gear Games studio continues to actively prepare Path of Exile 2 for its full 1.0 release. On May 29, the game will receive a massive update, Return of the Ancients, which will be the largest content patch throughout its early access period. One of the main innovations of the update will be a built-in Build Planner, designed to simplify life for both newcomers and experienced fans of the genre.

According to Game Director Jonathan Rogers, the team has long understood that the enormous skill tree and complex character progression system deter some of the audience. That's why the developers decided to create a tool that will make it easier to use community guides and master meta builds.

At the same time, Grinding Gear Games emphasizes that the planner will not impose specific development paths on players or contain official builds from the studio. The system was created as a flexible assistant, not as a mandatory navigator for progression.

One of the key features of the tool will be support for custom notes directly within the interface. Guide authors will be able to leave comments on items, skills, and passive abilities, as well as add explanations on how to use specific build mechanics. The developers believe this will make studying builds significantly more convenient, especially for new players.
