AMD to take a step towards gamers and breathe new life into old graphics cards

AMD has confirmed the expansion of support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution technology for older Radeon graphics cards. As early as July, owners of RDNA 3 architecture GPUs will gain access to FSR 4.1 with machine learning algorithms.

This was announced by AMD Senior Vice President Jack Huynh. After the update, users of Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards will be able to use new image scaling technologies without buying new hardware.

To switch to FSR 4.1, only a driver update is required. AMD promises higher quality images and smoother animation in over 300 supported games.

The company does not intend to stop there. In the first quarter of 2027, support for similar improvements is planned for RDNA 2 architecture graphics cards. AMD believes this will extend the lifespan of older GPUs and improve performance for more users.

At the same time, the company released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition driver version 26.5.2. The update includes optimizations for Forza Horizon 6 and 007 First Light, as well as stability fixes for Radeon graphics cards.
