American Truck Simulator Gets First Electric Truck and Regular Volvo Model for Free
Currently, there is no necessary infrastructure for electric trucks, and a mechanic handles recharging.
The creators of the American Truck Simulator long-haul driver simulator have introduced a pair of new licensed Volvo vehicle models. They added the Volvo VNL 2025 and the Volvo VNR Electric to the game. Both models will be available for free to all players.
The developers position the Volvo VNL 2025 as a truck for intercity freight transportation, designed with an emphasis on efficiency, comfort, and modern design:
Players will immediately notice the updated exterior with smoother lines and improved aerodynamics. Every detail has been meticulously crafted, making it an ideal companion for long journeys on interstate highways. A wide range of customization options are available, including various chassis configurations, paint options, accessories, and much more. These include a special paint job for the SCS box trailer.

The Volvo VNR Electric is the first electric truck in American Truck Simulator. Unlike the Volvo VNL 2025, it cannot be purchased and customized — just like in ETS 2, this model will only be available for specific orders:
This truck represents the modern era of transportation and is primarily designed for urban and regional hauling. Its all-electric powertrain provides smooth and quiet operation, offering a completely different driving experience compared to traditional trucks.
The Volvo VNR Electric cannot be charged at a station; if the charge runs out, you can order a recharging service through the mechanic's menu.
