Andy Fong, Technical Director at Virtuos studio, stated that the team would like to port Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 for Nintendo Switch.
For Virtuos, this would not be their first collaboration with Rockstar. In 2017, the studio was involved in porting L.A. Noire to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. In addition, the developers participated in bringing projects such as XCOM 2 and The Outer Worlds to Switch.
The interest in such ports is quite understandable. To date, Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 225 million copies, and Red Dead Redemption 2 has surpassed 82 million units sold. A release on Switch or potentially Switch 2 could further boost sales due to the popularity of the portable format.
