"Are you scared?": DC showed a full trailer for "Lanterns" and announced the premiere date
The studio took into account the criticism of the March teaser and finally showed the abilities of Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
DC Studios has released a full trailer for the series "Lanterns". The video is strikingly different from the deleted March teaser, where the project was presented as a drawn-out detective story in the spirit of the first season of "True Detective", and superhero abilities and the signature green light remained off-screen.
In the fresh trailer, the studio clearly worked on its mistakes: now there is plenty of action, green light, and a demonstration of Hal Jordan's abilities, played by Kyle Chandler. The video also shows for the first time how John Stewart, played by Aaron Pierre, uses the Green Lantern ring.
The plot of "Lanterns" will tell the story of young recruit John Stewart and veteran Corps member Hal Jordan, who are investigating a mysterious murder in rural America. The events of the series will unfold in two timelines: 2016 and 2026. The second part of the story takes place after the events of James Gunn's "Superman".
In addition to Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, the series stars Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Jason Ritter, and Nicole Ari Parker. Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King worked on the script, and James Hawes directed the first episodes.
The premiere of "Lanterns" will take place on August 16 on HBO and HBO Max.
