Warner Bros. Animation announced Yokoso Scooby-Doo! ("Welcome, Scooby-Doo!") — the first full-fledged anime based on the "Scooby-Doo" franchise. The production is handled by the Japanese studio OLM, known for "Pokémon" and "Pokémon Origins." The studio also participated in the creation of "The Apothecary Diaries" alongside TOHO animation STUDIO.

The new project will focus on Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, who embark on a culinary journey to Japan. Of course, they won't be able to enjoy their food peacefully: the heroes accidentally release hundreds of mythical creatures that begin to terrorize the country. They will have to deal with the consequences alongside Scooby's uncle named Daisuke-Doo, the sorceress Yume, and the young inventor Takumi.

Matthew Lillard will once again voice Shaggy: he previously played the character in the 2002 and 2004 films, and then became his permanent voice in animation. Frank Welker will reprise his role as Scooby-Doo, whom he has voiced since the "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" series, which premiered in 1969.

The anime is directed by Itsuro Kawasaki, who worked on "Cardfight!! Vanguard," "The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting," and "A Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil." Francisco Paredes, who previously participated in the work on "Young Justice," is listed as the project's producer.

The premiere date for Yokoso Scooby-Doo! has not yet been revealed.
