Russia's Team Spirit Crushes Falcons to Win PGL Astana 2026 in Counter-Strike 2
The Russian team Team Spirit became the champion of PGL Astana 2026 in Counter-Strike 2, defeating Team Falcons from Saudi Arabia with a score of 3:0.
Team Spirit took home $256,000 in prize money, and the tournament itself set a record for viewership among all non-Major PGL CS events.
The final took place on May 17 and gathered a peak of 1,169,121 viewers. This is the best result for PGL tournaments not related to Majors. The organizers noted that interest in competitive Counter-Strike 2 continues to grow.
The PGL Astana 2026 event brought together many top teams from around the world, but it was the Russian team Team Spirit that confidently went through the entire tournament and dealt with Falcons in the decisive match without serious problems. The victory also strengthened the team's position before IEM Cologne, which starts in June.
