Returnal Game Director Opens His Own Studio Called Cosmic Division

Housemarque is back in the spotlight after the release of Saros, and now another veteran of the team has made his presence known. Former Returnal Game Director Harry Krueger announced the opening of a new studio called Cosmic Division.

The independent team is also based in Finland and intends to focus on creating "ambitious, atmospheric, and gameplay-driven projects" with an emphasis on mystery, mood, and immersion.

Krueger worked at Housemarque for almost 15 years and left the studio in 2023. According to him, Cosmic Division plans to develop the ideas for which Housemarque's works are valued, while also seeking new themes, talents, and creative directions.

The studio's debut project will be a completely new intellectual property. The game will be released on PC and consoles, and the developers promise "uncompromising gameplay" and an emotional story. Judging by the description, the project may inherit the spirit of Returnal and Saros.
