According to data from the analytical company Alinea Analytics, Subnautica 2 has sold over 4 million copies in less than a week after its early access launch.

It is reported that in the first 24 hours alone, game sales exceeded 2 million copies, and total revenue has already reached $100 million. According to analysts, this makes Subnautica 2 the fastest-selling game on Steam in 2026 based on the first five days after release.

Sales rates were significantly higher than competitors: the game is selling three times faster than Crimson Desert, almost twice as fast as Resident Evil Requiem, and approximately 1.4 times faster than Slay the Spire 2.

Almost all sales came from the Steam version. On Xbox, as noted in the report, less than 100 thousand copies were sold. Analysts attribute this to the fact that the main audience of the series historically played on PC, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers gained access to the game without having to purchase it separately.
