Directors Joe and Anthony Russo were guests on the AGBO YouTube channel, where Joe stated that viewers are completely unprepared for what they will see in "Avengers: Doctor Doom."
"What Marvel does better than anyone in history is large-scale serialized stories. But 'Doctor Doom' is a complete reimagining, a new turn. I don't think audiences at all expect what will happen in the film: neither its tone, nor its themes, nor the direction of the story."
However, even without these statements, it's clear that Marvel is preparing something grand. One only needs to look at the cast: the film will feature Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, characters from "Thunderbolts," the new "Fantastic Four," the original Fox-era "X-Men," and many others. In total, more than 30 superheroes have already been announced for the film, but the list will surely be wider: Marvel is still keeping some characters a secret.
"Avengers: Doctor Doom" is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.
