Screenwriter of "The Batman 2" Hinted at an Important Daredevil Comic Project
Mattson Tomlin is studying a "sacred" Daredevil comic for a new project.
Mattson Tomlin, the screenwriter of "The Batman 2," fueled rumors about a possible project related to Daredevil. On May 22, he posted a photo on X of Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev's "Daredevil" comics and captioned the image: "Returning to study the sacred text. You know what that means…"
Tomlin's response to a user sparked additional interest. When asked if there were other important sources of inspiration he frequently returns to before starting a new project, he replied: "Depends on what I'm working on, but this is the most important project."
Tomlin did not provide further clarification, so users are speculating about what he meant. Perhaps the screenwriter is working on a project for Marvel – for example, a continuation of "Daredevil: Born Again" or a solo film about Matt Murdock. It is also possible that he is simply drawing inspiration from the Marvel street vigilante comics for his work on another street vigilante – Batman.
Tomlin is currently busy with "The Batman 2," where he is co-writing the screenplay with Matt Reeves. The film is in production and is scheduled for release on October 1, 2027.
