Kadokawa has released a new trailer for the animated film "Made in Abyss: The Secret of the Awakening" — a continuation of the anime "Made in Abyss". The film will directly follow the events of the second season, "The Sun Blazes in the Golden City", which concluded in 2022.
Kinema Citrus studio is once again responsible for the production. Masayuki Kojima, who previously worked on previous seasons and the film "Dawn of the Deep Soul", remains the director. Hideyuki Kurata is again writing the screenplay, and Yuka Kuroda and Kazuchika Kise from Production I.G. are handling character design.
The first part of the new full-length story will be released in Japanese cinemas on October 23, 2026. It is currently unknown when the film will reach international distribution.
