Insider: Sonic Frontiers to get enhanced edition - possible release on Switch 2
Sonic Frontiers may get an enhanced edition - Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition. According to an insider, the updated version will be released on June 23 and may include a release on Nintendo Switch 2 and a physical edition.
In late March, a mention of Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition was spotted in the database of the Korean rating agency. Now, almost two months later, well-known insider Billbil-Kun reported that the game might be announced and released soon.
Sega has not yet officially confirmed Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, but according to the source, the release is scheduled for June 23, 2026 — on the 35th anniversary of the Sonic series. A version for Nintendo Switch 2 and a physical edition are also expected.
The insider did not disclose what specific improvements the game, released in 2022, will receive, but reported a reduced price — 49.99 euros.
Given Billbil-Kun's reputation, who regularly receives release data in advance, the announcement of Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition may happen soon.
