Epic Games technologies continue to improve. An even more modern version of the Unreal Engine is being prepared.

Recently, during the Rocket League Championship Series Paris Major 2026 tournament, Epic Games and Psyonix studio made an important announcement. The car football simulator will be ported to the Unreal Engine 6.

Rocket League was originally developed on the Unreal Engine 3. Since then, technologies have advanced significantly, and the Psyonix team has gained access to new features and overcome previous technical limitations. In addition, moving away from the old engine will eliminate the need to train new developers to work with it.

The Rocket League developers clarified that the gameplay footage shown in the video was recorded in real time. Judging by this promo, players can expect a more realistic graphics style.

The teaser can be watched at the following link.

Currently, Rocket League is distributed on PC via the Epic Games Store, but Steam users who managed to purchase the game still have access to it in their libraries:

In the futuristic sports game Rocket League, players can control powerful cars, destroy everything around for rewards, and skillfully avoid collisions in a variety of arenas. Rocket League realistically conveys in-game interactions through an advanced physics system and the implementation of laws of mass and momentum, giving players intuitive control in this incredibly energetic version of football.
