The anime "Takopi's Original Sin," based on the manga of the same name by TAIZAN 5, will return as a feature film theatrical release. The compilation film will be subtitled "Thank You, See You Tomorrow."

The announcement came in light of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 ceremony, where "Takopi's Original Sin" was among the nominees for "Anime of the Year," "Best Drama," and "Best New Series."

The exact premiere date has not yet been revealed, but the creators have already confirmed that the film will not be a shot-for-shot repetition of the original 2025 anime. The studio will create new scenes specifically for the theatrical version, which will expand and complement the story.

The story follows an alien named Takopi, who arrives on Earth from a happy planet to bring joy. He meets a withdrawn schoolgirl, Shizuka, who suffers from domestic violence and cruel bullying. Takopi sincerely tries to help the girl but completely misunderstands human psychology and the laws of society.

ENISHIYA studio is responsible for the production. Director and lead screenwriter Shinya Ino will retain both positions, and Kurumi Mamiya, who voiced Takopi, and Reina Ueda, who voiced Shizuka, will return to their roles.
