GTA V continues to print money - franchise revenue exceeds $10 billion

Take-Two has updated the financial performance of the Grand Theft Auto series. Since the release of GTA V, the franchise has already earned over $10.58 billion, and in the last fiscal year alone, revenues exceeded $825 million.

According to the company's report, GTA accounted for about 12.4% of Take-Two's total annual revenue. Compared to last year, the series' revenue grew by 14% — at that time, the franchise brought in $709 million.

One of the main sources of profit remains GTA V. Over the past year, Rockstar once again shipped about 20 million copies of the game. Revenues were also influenced by the GTA+ subscription, player spending in GTA Online, and deals with PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass services, where GTA V appeared.

Total series sales have already exceeded 440 million copies, and analysts believe that before the release of GTA 6, the franchise could surpass the $11 billion revenue mark.

Take-Two still adheres to the GTA 6 release date of November 19. The company believes there will be no more postponements. According to analysts' forecasts, the new installment alone could bring in about $2.7 billion in its first year.
