The ultra-hardcore post-apocalyptic sandbox Kenshi has reached the 3 million copies sold mark. Lo-Fi Games announced this on their blog, thanking fans who shared screenshots, recommended the project to friends, and “played more hours than they’re willing to admit.”

As a small token of gratitude for reaching this impressive number, the developers have added pleasant souvenirs to the Steam Points Shop. Now you can decorate your profile with themed in-game cosmetics: animated avatars and avatar frames.

Of course, the creators are well aware of the community's most frequent question in comments and social media: “When Kenshi 2?”

“And we understand! You can’t wait. We can’t wait either! We’d love to tell you more, but — as Chris and Nat noted in our “Meet the Devs” video, it’s not always possible to make something look good for advertising. We understand: it’s hard when there’s no news at all. But our approach to creating Kenshi 2 is the same as to all our other projects: we work stubbornly and meticulously, and most importantly — we do it on our terms. We appreciate your patience as we work on a worthy successor to Kenshi: a game that will exceed your expectations.”

To brighten the wait, the studio launched the website kenshi2when.com. Essentially, it’s a newsletter subscription form where you can choose to receive all updates from Lo-Fi Games or only information about Kenshi 2.

Given the history of the first part, fast news should not be expected. The original Kenshi was developed for over ten years, and a full release occurred only five years after its early access debut.

Kenshi is also currently on sale on Steam with a 72% discount. In the Russian region, the price is reduced to 308 rubles, and the promotion will last until June 1.
