While Forza Horizon 6 storms the sales charts, a separate drama is unfolding within the game itself. Players are widely discussing the Bowie Knife99 drivatar – an aggressive AI opponent who regularly appears in races, rams cars, pushes participants off the track, and somehow still finishes first.
On TikTok and YouTube, videos of his antics gather hundreds of thousands of views, and gamers compare Bowie Knife99 to the legendary Matt from Wii Sports and Herobrine from Minecraft. It has escalated into a full-blown hunt: some players frantically try to slip past him from the start, while others intentionally try to teach the insolent one a lesson, but more often than not, they also end up off the track.
The identity of the virtual maniac remains a mystery. Forza uses drivatars of real people, including friends, journalists, and studio employees, to fill empty spots in races. Reddit users speculate that Bowie Knife99 could be someone from Playground Games with early access, whose aggressive driving style the game learned too well and now inserts into every other session.
An account allegedly belonging to the "culprit" has already appeared on Twitter/X, communicating with the audience using rephrased quotes from "Taken":
“I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. I have no merits, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. I will find you, and I will ram you.”
Even the official Xbox UK account reacted to the situation, recently wishing a good day to "everyone except Bowie Knife99."
So, the virtual tyrant's days are likely numbered: amidst mass complaints, Playground Games has already announced that it is preparing a major patch that will adjust the balance of drivatars at high difficulty levels.
