The British studio Maverick Games, founded by former creators of Forza Horizon, is preparing to unveil its debut game. The developers have launched a mysterious countdown on YouTube, which will conclude on Tuesday, June 2, at 2:00 PM Moscow time.
Currently, there are almost no details about the project. Maverick Games was founded in 2022 by Mike Brown, former creative director of Playground Games. Along with him, executive producer Tom Butcher, art director Ben Penrose, and technical director Matt Craven left the Forza Horizon development studio.
The new team's debut project will be a story-driven open-world racing game, with Jamie Brittain, co-creator of the British teen series "Skins," responsible for the script.
Initially, the game's production was funded by Amazon's gaming division, but after a recent restructuring and the closure of the IT giant's internal studios, Maverick Games bought back the rights to the project and became fully independent.
