Full-fledged radio to appear in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and ATS - 1.60 update teaser
The developers will offer not only a set of ready-made radio stations but also the ability to create your own.
The developers of the truck driver simulators Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator have presented a new dev diary dedicated to the development of update 1.60. A highly requested feature was in the spotlight.
SCS Software decided to offer players several in-game radio stations – ETS 2 and ATS now feature a full-fledged “Game Radio”:
Game Radio is an entirely new in-game radio system designed to enhance immersion, support role-playing, and make every journey feel more authentic. Instead of treating radio as just another technical feature, we’ve created a set of stations with their unique identities, philosophies, moods, and sounds. This is the first chapter of Game Radio – built on music, with plans for further development in the future.
Players will be able to listen to Rust FM, Escape, PUMP IT!, Pop Gear, Roadio. “Game Radio” will expand the existing radio functionality, complementing the streaming (online radio) and music player system.
A special “Audio Player” widget will be displayed on the screen during gameplay – it will show the song title, artist name, and other information (the display can be customized). The developers noted that players will be able to create their own radio stations and share them with other community members.
The developers of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck have not yet announced when they plan to release update 1.60. Previously, they presented another teaser – SCS Software will update the order widget, which allows players to get information about the route and other details.
