Less than a week remains until the return of the animated adaptation of the Critical Role Dungeons & Dragons tabletop campaign.

The fourth season of the animated series "The Legend of Vox Machina" will be released on Prime Video on June 3. Ahead of the release, show creators Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham shared production details and revealed the final addition to the voice cast.

The main surprise was the participation of Andy Serkis, known for his role as Gollum in "The Lord of the Rings". Which character the actor voiced is still unknown, but fans are already speculating that it could be one of the season's antagonists. In addition, the creators confirmed the return of Jon Heder, who will once again voice the half-orc bard Lionel.

The continuation's plot will jump forward one year after the devastating invasion of the Chroma Conclave. The heroes have gone their separate ways to deal with personal problems and find their place in life. But peace in Exandria, as is known, does not last long: when a new ancient threat awakens, Vox Machina must reunite.

The characters are still voiced by the actors from the original Critical Role campaign: Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O'Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham.

The series has already been renewed for a fifth season. It will be the final chapter of the story.
