Japanese media giant Toho has announced the start of production for the third season of the anime "Dorohedoro." The announcement coincided with the release of the final episode of the second season.
"Dorohedoro" is an adaptation of Q Hayashida's manga about the grim city of Hole, where sorcerers from another dimension conduct cruel experiments on humans. The story centers on the amnesiac lizard-headed Caiman and his friend Nikaido, who hunt sorcerers in an attempt to restore the hero's human form.
MAPPA studio will continue to work on the third season. It is expected to retain the key team: director Yuichiro Hayashi, screenwriter Hiroshi Seko, and character designer Tomohiro Kishi. The music will once again be handled by the group (K)NoW_NAME.
The exact premiere date has not yet been revealed, but thanks to the quick renewal, fans hope that this time they won't have to wait a long six years for new episodes, as was the case with the second season.
