The developers of the life simulator Paralives received over 100,000 bug reports in the first four days after the game's early access launch. This was revealed by the project creator Alex Masse during a recent Q&A session, where he also explained why the genre remains one of the most challenging in the gaming industry.

According to Masse, many players underestimate the number of systems that operate in the background even during simple character actions. For example, the command "go to bed" when a character is holding a child triggers a whole chain of checks: the character must finish their current activity, safely put the child down, plot a route to the bed, navigate obstacles, select animations appropriate for height and age, check for sleepwear, an available side of the bed, the rate of fatigue recovery, and the moment of automatic action completion after waking up.

The situation becomes significantly more complex if the player simultaneously controls multiple characters or cancels an action at one of the intermediate stages. Such interconnectedness of systems leads to a huge number of errors. Therefore, 100,000 bug reports are a serious burden for a small studio, especially considering that only 15 developers are currently working on Paralives.

Despite this, the project has managed to attract the attention of genre fans: on the release day, peak online players exceeded 78,000, and its rating on Steam remains at 88% positive reviews after more than 8,000 user reviews.
