The Xbox Player Voice system, launched in May, has already shown what Microsoft's audience wants most. Among the game series that users are pushing to bring back, Banjo-Kazooie has taken the lead.

The proposal to release a new game in the series garnered 799 votes at the time of publication and ranked 39th in the overall initiatives. In one day, it climbed 12 positions. Higher-ranked items included more general wishes such as free multiplayer, an expanded list of exclusives, the return of avatars, and other changes to the Xbox ecosystem.

The last full-fledged game in the series, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, was released back in 2008 on Xbox 360. The project received a mixed reaction from fans due to its departure from the classic platformer formula in favor of vehicle construction mechanics. Since then, the iconic duo has only appeared as guest characters in other games, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
