The Songs of the Past expansion for The Witcher 3 will be closer to Blood and Wine, rather than Hearts of Stone, says CD Projekt. For fans, this is especially important news, as Blood and Wine is considered the largest expansion not only for The Witcher 3, but also for games of the genre in general, offering from 15 to 40 hours of content depending on the playstyle.

Currently, about 190 developers are working on Songs of the Past. The majority of the team represents Fool’s Theory studio, which is also working on the remake of the first The Witcher. CD Projekt RED reminded that the remake will be released after The Witcher 4. Thus, the current franchise roadmap looks like this: Songs of the Past, then The Witcher 4, and after that — the remake of the original game.

New details about Songs of the Past are promised to be shown at Gamescom 2026.
