Arrowhead Games' 6.2.5 update added NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS support to Helldivers 2, but users report that all upscalers are currently not working correctly.

Several technical improvements have appeared on PCs and consoles. These include resolution upscaling to 1440p in performance mode on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for PS5 and PS5 Pro, and Variable Rate Shading (VRS), which reduces GPU load by decreasing the shading rate in certain areas of the image.

In addition, the game received Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS) support on PC and PS5. Thanks to this, the developers also increased the resolution in PS5's power-saving mode to 1440p.

Nevertheless, the main feature of the update — upscaler support — turned out to be problematic. Reddit users began to massively complain about image quality. One player stated that "all upscalers are currently broken if you actually use them for scaling," noting that any settings below native resolution make the picture almost unplayable.

According to players, NVIDIA DLSS in Balanced mode noticeably blurs the image, and similar problems are observed with AMD FSR and Intel XeSS. Users publish comparative screenshots demonstrating a significant loss of sharpness and detail.

At the same time, PlayStation 5 Pro owners rate the update significantly better. Despite the fact that the game only received PSSR 1.0 support, the implementation of Sony's technology, according to reviews, turned out to be successful. Players note a reduction in flickering and image blur, as well as an overall improvement in picture quality.
