Indie developer achieved a replica rework in 007 First Light - he noticed a speech problem with James Bond
IO Interactive was criticized for an incorrect main character line, and conclusions were drawn.
The release of 007 First Light recently took place, and players found out that IO Interactive made an important correction to the final version of the game. Earlier, indie developer Joe Wintergreen drew the community's attention to an "Americanism" that had crept into James Bond's speech.
The developers of 007 First Light showed a dialogue from one mission in a trailer, where Bond was operating undercover as a chauffeur. During the conversation, the main character used the phrase "parking lot" (meaning "parking lot" in the American variant of English).
Many players at the time didn't even pay attention to this subtlety. The essence of the claim is that, from a lore perspective, James Bond is a British intelligence agent, meaning at that moment his line should have been "car park" (which would correspond to the British variant of English).
Other players noticed Joe Wintergreen's post on social media, and a discussion about this error began. The information eventually reached IO Interactive, and the developers replaced the line in 007 First Light — the final version of the game uses the correct version with "car park".
