Netflix has announced the release date for the second part of the anime "Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre". The continuation of Keisuke Itagaki's manga adaptation will appear on the streaming service on June 18th – all 12 episodes will be released on this day. Along with the announcement, the creators published a poster featuring the main participants of the upcoming duels.
The second part will conclude the adaptation of the fourth major arc of the original manga. The plot revolves around a secret experiment by millionaire Mitsunari Tokugawa: using cloning technologies and ancient magic, scientists resurrect the legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi, using his preserved remains.
The appearance of the invincible warrior from the past plunges modern Japan into chaos, and the best fighters of the underground arena, including Baki and Yujiro Hanma, accept the challenge of the dangerous swordsman.
Toshiki Hirano is the director of the project, Tatsuhiko Urahata is responsible for the script composition, Shingo Ishikawa prepared the character design, and Kenji Fujisawa wrote the music. The production is handled by TMS Entertainment studio.
