Fandom and GameSpot's parent company, Integrated Media Company (IMC), is set to become the majority owner of British publisher Playstack, known for the card hit Balatro.
The deal was previously reported by Turin, Playstack's current owner. As Game Developer notes, Turin has agreed to sell its 84.5% stake to VantageCo, an IMC subsidiary. The deal is valued at £112.4 million (approximately $151 million).
If shareholders approve the agreement, Playstack will join the IMC ecosystem alongside entertainment brands such as Fandom, Screen Junkies, Fanatical, and GameSpot.
Playstack states that its release success rate exceeds 85%. In the last fiscal year, the publisher's combined catalog generated over $100 million in revenue on Steam, with game downloads exceeding 20 million.
