Filming for the "Superman" sequel is still underway, but some actors may already be free.

American actor Frank Grillo has completed filming his scenes in the superhero blockbuster "Superman: Man of Tomorrow," a direct sequel to James Gunn's 2025 "Superman." Grillo announced the completion of his part of the work to his followers on social media, posting from the set in Atlanta.

"Nothing but love. That's a wrap! It's always bittersweet when a special project ends for me. But I leave with love and gratitude deep in my soul."

The actor called his work within the updated DCU cinematic universe "incredibly fun" and added that this experience is unlike any other project in his career. Grillo is also confident in the quality of the upcoming film:

"I think the movie is going to be a bomb, and everyone in it is just great. So, to be continued."

Grillo also didn't spare praise for his colleagues on set. Of David Corenswet, he said that he is 100% the embodiment of Superman: "He is Superman. He exudes absolute nobility." The actor also singled out Nicholas Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor, and jokingly noted that if Hoult is not eventually cast as the new James Bond, it would be "a colossal mistake by the producers."

For Grillo, the role of warlord Rick Flag Sr. will be his fourth appearance in Gunn's media franchise after "Creature Commandos," "Peacemaker," and the first "Superman."

The world premiere of "Superman: Man of Tomorrow" is scheduled for July 2027.
