Minecraft to get new biome and cubes - Chaos Cubed update release date announced
In 26.2, players will be able to experiment with new mob mechanics.
Mojang Studios recently held a special Minecraft Live stream. During the presentation, the developers revealed the release date of the next major update 26.2 (Chaos Cubes) and showcased its content.
A new biome called Sulfur Caves will appear in the game. While exploring the caves, players will be able to mine new blocks: sulfur and cinnabar, as well as sulfur spikes — the developers noted that these pointed blocks will not harm the player. Geysers, which act like their real-life counterparts — ejecting water upwards under high pressure — may appear on the surface above the sulfur caves.
In the sulfur caves, players will be able to find new mobs called Sulfur Cubes. Mobs can be fed, and their properties will change depending on the block they eat. For example, the cube will gain the ability to slide, fly, bounce, and more.
In Chaos Cubed, the developers will add a new music disc called "Bounce" — according to the developers, it will feature "a track that will make you jump like a hungry sulfur cube." The disc can be found in chests near the sulfur caves.
The Minecraft Chaos Cubed update is expected to be released on June 16, 2026.
