In May, the creators of the grand strategy game Victoria 3 released a small update, Hotfix 1.13.7, which includes various fixes and AI improvements.

Paradox stated that several issues were resolved where countries could pay excessively high amounts for the trade fleet of port connections (the calculation of port connection was changed): “simply put, they shut down the port cartel embezzlement scheme”:

We now calculate how much each country's markets purchase from other markets and proportionally distribute the cost of sea trade routes for port connections based on this share — this amount is paid to the market owner as a commission.

For supply ships, full 3D models of the transport used have been created, and their appearance will change as more advanced technologies are unlocked.

The developers also announced that players now have the option to build the Kiel Canal and published a screenshot from Victoria 3:

The artificial intelligence in Victoria 3 will now better prioritize important regions with high strategic value when choosing a position and forms fleets for specific roles, such as a main battle fleet or a fleet for raiding/piracy.
