Studio 4Cats is preparing to release the deck-building poker roguelike One More Try. The project resembles a mix of Balatro and Slay the Spire: players will have to fight their way through the lands of a magical kingdom, collecting poker combinations to attack enemies.
The player's deck consists not of cards, but of poker chips. Each chip is responsible for a unique action: it can change card values, substitute suits, or enhance combinations. In addition, the player collects magical relics and levels up their hero, each of whom has their own attacks.
A free test version of One More Try: Prologue is already available on Steam and Itch.io. The project can be downloaded and run on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android.
According to user reviews on Itch.io, the game already has its first fans. Some players call the idea very successful and note that they like the project even more than Slay the Spire. However, the prologue still has plenty of bugs, both technical and localization-related.
The exact release date for the full version of One More Try has not yet been announced.
