NVIDIA has announced DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction – a new version of its AI-powered denoising and image reconstruction model for ray-traced and path-traced games. The update will be available in August for all GeForce RTX graphics cards, including the RTX 20, RTX 30, RTX 40, and RTX 50 series.
At the core of DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is a second-generation neural network transformer model. According to NVIDIA, the new architecture boasts 35% more computational power and processes 20% more parameters, while maintaining performance on par with the current version of the technology.
The technology provides three key improvements: more accurate lighting reconstruction, closer to reference rendering; reduced "ghosting" (blurring) in moving details such as particle effects and weather phenomena; and enhanced temporal stability between frames.
Upon its release in August, DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction will be supported in 27 games. These include Cyberpunk 2077, Pragmata, Resident Evil Requiem, Alan Wake 2, Half-Life 2 RTX, Portal with RTX, Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Outlaws, The First Descendant, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
