Sony reminded PlayStation users about the upcoming mandatory age verification to access a range of communication features. The company had already sent out relevant notifications several months ago, but now account holders have received a repeat warning – there is less and less time left to complete the procedure.

According to Sony's message, in the near future, users who have not verified their age will lose access to communication features on PlayStation. The restrictions will affect messaging and voice chat. However, other platform services will continue to operate as usual: players will be able to launch games, earn trophies, and use the PlayStation Store.

In the new letter, the company reminds that age verification is a one-time procedure and usually takes only a few minutes. Sony recommends completing it in advance to avoid possible restrictions after the new rules come into effect.

There are three options for age verification. Users can take a selfie for automatic verification, provide an identity document – such as a passport or driver's license – or confirm their mobile number.
